Meet Steven Andrews
Founder of SOARX Consulting & Realty Management Group
I was born into a blue-collar, hardworking family that raised me to have a strong work ethic and unwavering values of drive and determination. From a young age, my parents instilled in me the importance of wholehearted commitment and encouraged me to pursue my dreams. The old saying goes, “If you're going to do something, do it right or don't do it at all!” This saying even applied to playing sports when I was growing up and flowed into my professional career.
Guided by the belief that success comes from doing things right, I embarked on a path fueled by passion and unwavering dedication.
At High Point University, I began my college education by taking a real estate class, which changed everything for me. I quickly fell in love with the industry. However, despite my passion, doubts clouded my path. People questioned my decision, and fear of failure held me back for several years. I pursued the safe journey and continued my role as a manager at a local retailer. Soon, I was living with more than $75,000 of debt, and I knew that something had to change.
I went back to the passion I had discovered four years earlier in my real estate class.
I connected with a local mentor, Joel, whose guidance and support proved invaluable. Joel had been extremely successful in the rental property business and not only believed in my dreams, but was also willing to share his own missteps, offering wisdom from the many lessons he learned. Armed with his knowledge and encouragement, I began buying rental properties. Inevitably, I made my own mistakes along the way; however, I used each setback as an opportunity for growth and I never gave up.
My journey, like most, began humbly. In the beginning, I was using the salary of my retail management job and a credit card (yes you read that correctly) to buy my first property. I connected with bankers in my community to help with funding for my second property and used the profits from that to buy my third. Today, I proudly own and manage several hundred properties with my company, Realty Management Group (RMG). However, my success is not mine alone. My parents and brother, witnessing my achievements and inspired by the values instilled in our family, joined me in the real estate business. I am incredibly grateful for my family’s unwavering support, and together, we strive to give back and support others.
